Volunteers are Wanted for Centro's Disaster Recovery Clearinghouse

Centro Staff

On September 20, 2017, Maria, the worst hurricane to hit Puerto Rico in 80 years, left behind destruction and a humanitarian crisis. This event will dictate the upcoming policy agenda for the island. Stateside Puerto Ricans have an important role in moving the cause forward. For this reason, Centro has created an initiative to help with disaster recovery and reconstruction.

Puerto Rico Needs You!

Centro is looking for volunteers who want to help Puerto Rico, not just in the emergency phase, but also in recovery and reconstruction. We need volunteers with skills in collecting and managing information, writing policy briefs, and helping with the Outreach and Partnership division.

We need volunteers for:

    • Data Entry and Collection
    • Policy Research
    • Outreach and Partnerships
    • Content Management and Creator
    • Social Media and Dissemination
    • Advocacy

Ideal candidates will work well independently, have expertise in their area of volunteer work, and some research skills. Interns for credit or as part of the Frank Bonilla Internship are welcomed. If you have management and leadership experience, please indicate if you are interested in becoming co-coordinator of a team.

What is expected: a minimum of 10-12 hours a week, attending on-site or off-site weekly or biweekly meeting (depending on group).
